HAPEN President's Message - Susan R. Olson "Stepping Forward and Creating New Value!" Dear HAPEN Members, As the incoming President of HAPEN, I sincerely appreciate all of the hard work of our past President Cassandra Voutchas. Her dedication to make our membership grow was with energy and sparkling leadership. We are planning a HAPEN'in fabulous year for the 2008-2009 term and want each of of you to attend and be a part of the excitement! Every member is very important and I hope to see each of you monthly so we can learn new skills, get inspired and network with some very successful women! HAPEN's theme this year is to "Step Forward and Create New Value". Our hope is to make HAPEN an excellent resource for you to "create new value" by creating a "Lending Library". A library where members "loan" books to each other. If each member loans one book, we can have the perfect Mobile Library. We recommend taping your business card to the inside cover so you can retrieve it later. A quick survey will be sent to you from your leadership team to gather your needs and implement the best ideas for the coming year. Over the next year, a primary goal will be to increase membership. We will make the speaker information available to you to invite guests. E-flyers will be provided via email and paper copies will be at the registration desk at our HAPEN meetings. A networking business card has already been printed and distributed at our July 22 meeting. This will assist with invitation of potential guests/members. These networking cards will be available to you at every meeting. Recognition of our members is very important and your Board want to make that recognition often and an exciting event. We will be presenting you with certificates of Attendance, Appreciation and the Protege' Award! The HAPEN Board promises to make this one of HAPEN's finest years and with your continued support and enthusiasm, we will accomplish this. You can expect to hear from me regularly, and I want to hear from you as well. Any ideas or comments to make our organization more appealing are always welcome. Thank you for your support! Susan R.
